STERI-SCOPE is an environmentally friendly cold sterilising solution active against all micro-organisms.
STERI-SCOPE is used as a sterilizing agent and can be used for:
Water Sprayers & Foggers; Water Treatment; Sewerage treatment; Public toilets; Feed Bins; Poultry Houses; Hard Surface; Post Harvest Treatment; Animal Confinement Areas; Walls, Floors, Ceilings; Hospitals; Instrument disinfection; Farrowing Houses; Boarding Kennels; Calf Barns; Pig Sties; Animal Hospitals; Hospitality industry; Food industry, etc.
STERI-SCOPE’s proven superiority over other standard disinfectants is due to its relatively low effective concentrations and STERI-SCOPE eliminates micro organisms of human and animal health concern in minutes or seconds, rather than the long contact times required with other sanitizing products. STERI-SCOPE does not chlorinate to produce toxic by-products as generated by chlorine products. After treatment, STERI-SCOPE quickly degrades to non-volatile compounds. The most significant feature of STERI-SCOPE is the low toxicity and safety of the product.
STERI-SCOPE is also active against acid tolerant bacteria, such as the infamous (E. Coli 0157:H7), 30 sec at a dilution of 100 ppm resulted in a 99.9999% kill. STERI-SCOPE has all the disinfecting properties of chlorine dioxide which is the most preferred disinfectant in many countries. USDA studies suggest STERI-SCOPE may be up to 7 times more effective than chlorine.
STERI-SCOPE is very effective in the control of malodours by eliminating the odour causing bacteria or compounds at the surface.
STERI-SCOPE is an environmentally friendly biocide and at the recommended working concentrations for various applications, poses no threat to human or animal exposure.

Water analyses of STERI-SCOPE indicate a very small fraction of organisms (TMA 0.0047) present after 9 hours of fruit packing in the water. Yeast and mould calculations were zero.
STERI-SCOPE reduces the Total Microbial Activity of all fruit types tested with 95% or more at a concentration of 3L/1000L and exposure time of 3 minutes. The reduction of yeasts and moulds on pears and plums are 100% under these conditions.
For mould elimination on lemons (citrus), a longer exposure time than 3 minutes is recommended.

The Freddy Hirsch group in Maitland Cape Town conducted a series of tests (2007) and found STERI-SCOPE to be very effective in, preventing meat decay, and prolonging shelf life.
